Macs themselves have some decent power also from being made to be highly productive in work.

My modded instance with ~250 mods chugs with 1GB - 2GB used at any given time, 4GB allocated. The only exception to this rule would be for mods, mods does add some memory overhead, so that's when you will run into memory issues with low amounts of RAM allocated. I ran it with 512MB, 1GB, 2GB and 4GB RAM allocated and got the exact same performance in all 4 scenarios anywhere between 13 and 150 FPS depending on what's going on, low FPS while world loads but 90 - 150 FPS once the world has loaded. One of my responses to a post had screenshots that proved memory doesn't affect performance. One that's supporting the game, it benefits from a good GPU, and once you've struck a good balance you'll have your FPS carried to 60+ (60 FPS is pretty much the minimum for optimal frame-rates considering the lowest refresh rate you'll see nowadays is 60Hz). Minecraft will benefit from a CPU good at single-thread performance. RAMs not the winning factor with Minecraft (or any game really unless you have like 2 gigs of RAM or something), primarily the winning factor for Minecraft is your CPU, closely followed by your GPU. You might need to decrease your graphic settings a bit though.

with 45-60 FPS on my MacBook Pro with half the RAM as your's. Shaders also won't work simply for the fact that it's an Intel GPU, so shaders are out of the question.Ī lot.? I've used the Mad Pack, the Crack Pack, etc.

So, while it should run Minecraft fine, don't expect other games to run smoothly. Considering the Iris 6100 is firstly, an Intel GPU, and secondly, an integrated GPU, you'll get lower performance than the 820M. The 820M should handle older titles decently, but current-gen titles are either forced to run on low with sub-par FPS or just won't run at all. According to what I've found, the Intel Iris 6100 is about equal to the NVIDIA GeForce GT 820M, which is the lowest dedicated graphics card available in the 8XXM series of cards, not the best. GPU, decent for Minecraft, not good all round purely for the fact that it's an Intel GPU. Your exact CPU is not listed, so can't say much there.

Each mod has a difference performance impact, some mods barely affect performance in a measurable way, most mods affect performance but you don't notice the impact till you have 200 or so mods installed, others (like shaders for instance) can drop a system to it's knees if it's not powerful enough. DO NOT TELL ME TO DROP MY MAC AND GET A PC!ĭepends on what mod(s). NOTE: Idk how much of a PC fanboy you are. Since I was too lazy to rewrite all the specs I just grabbed a screenshot. Hello guys, I was just wondering how many mods you estimate I could run on my Retina macbook pro with the game still being playable.
